Halloween: the night of the witches

Halloween: la notte delle streghe

It is American films and series that have brought us witches and monsters on the night of October 31st , everything we have learned about Halloween we learned from Hollywood.

All Hallow Eve is the evening of October 31st which precedes the day of November 1st dedicated to all saints.

Halloween symbols: the carved pumpkin

One of the symbols of Halloween is the carved pumpkin . It actually has its roots in an ancient Irish legend, that of the Jack-o'-lantern . Jack was a drunken Irish blacksmith, who managed to deceive the devil . Jack asked the devil to turn into a coin for one last drink, before giving him his soul forever. But, once the devil has transformed, Jack takes out a cross and the devil, paralyzed, is no longer able to return to himself.

In order to regain freedom and not remain a coin forever, the devil promises Jack that he would not bother him for the next ten years . When the devil returns Jack manages to trick him again. He asks him to pick an apple from a tree and, once the devil has climbed, Jack places a cross at the base of the tree, so as to prevent him from coming back down .

The devil is then forced to come to terms with Jack again and promise him that he would spare him from Hell .

Once Jack dies, he is denied paradise because he was a great sinner in life. The devil also refuses him Hell, so that from then on Jack is forced to wander the world of the living as a dead man . The devil gives Jack an eternal flame from Hell which Jack places inside a turnip.

When the holiday arrives in the United States, the turnip will become a pumpkin , because it is easier to find in those lands.

Halloween also in the company of our Pet friends

Who said that witches' night is a celebration for humans and monsters only? Even our four-legged friends can share this air of adventure with us. For the occasion, in fact, kennels, clothing and accessories can be rethought in a Halloween way: black, sparkling or decorated with typical pumpkins!

On the scariest night of the year, even our 4-legged friend needs the right outfit .

Precisely to experience this celebration together, without forgetting our dogs and cats, a collaboration was born... scary!

To best celebrate a themed collection to make Fido and Micio's Halloween special too. Not only! A nice competition together with the new Sony Pictures Animation film Hotel Transylvania: a monstrous exchange , which sees our animals as protagonists: " Transform the Look " invites you to capture the dark side of your four-legged friend in an image, dressed specifically for the scariest night of the year or simply fallen into a "haunted" situation.
